For example, in English, we say “I’m worried about you”, while in Portuguese, we say “Estou preocupada com você”. We use different prepositions.

Sometimes we need to use a preposition in English but not in Portuguese, and vice versa.

And then there are cases where the verb following the preposition is in a different tense.

  • What level of Portuguese proficiency is required to benefit from this course?

    This course is designed for intermediate speakers. The short story is in Portuguese, and so are the videos and text that explain the right verb-preposition combination in Portuguese and show you the common mistakes to avoid. The practice exercises are also in Portuguese. If you can engage in everyday conversations in Portuguese (B1 to B2 level), you will benefit greatly from this course. If not, it might be better suited for you later in your journey.

  • How much time will I need to dedicate to this course?

    This is a short, story-based, hands-on course. If you wish, you can finish all six modules in one day but I advise against that. Each lesson introduces a number of verb-preposition combinations. I encourage you to spend a few days practicing those and solidifying your knowledge before you move on to the next lessons to learn new combinations.

  • Will I get personal attention in this course?
